      Compost them...I do.

I get the kids to eat anything I grow on the plot first. If they get ill, I give the rest to the in laws.

Yup, compost them indeed. Nothing wrong with them on the heap.

I thought I read somewhere that it’s illegal to make fertiliser using rhubarb leaves. Strange, because I'm sure I saw it being made on an allotment, on TV.

Yep. It was on BBC2's Big Dig programme. He steeped them in a bin full of water and used the resulting liquid as a deterrent for cabbage white butterflies on his brassicas. It seemed to work, but if you try it, be warned; it smells BAD

                      Cabbage White deterrent

I have heard that cabbage Whites can be discouraged by spraying brassicas with liquid made from boiled Rhubarb leaves
Has anyone had any success with this method and, if so please could you let me know how to do it?
                      Many Thanks
