Oooh never been on their forum - maybe we could set up some kind of mamouth vegetable growing competition or something with them next year. Could be great fun, especially if they're competitive.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Probably best to leave it at that and move back to the isn't GYO a well written and useful magazine - it's the only one I'm subscribing to at the moment although do occaisionally have the odd flirtation with others - don't worry though they're just one night stands rather than full blown affairs!

Had a **** day at work, came home, was running round like a headless chicken getting my tatties covered up due to the freezing temperatures - was feeling really rather cheesed off! Eventually went to see what Mr Postie had delivered - YIPEE! the new GYO magazine! Happy days! Guess what I'm going to be reading at work tomorrow - if I can wait that long...........a nice soak in the bath, glass of wine and my GYO is beckoning later this evening methinks! DDL

Appreciate the little things in life because one day you will realise they are the big things
It's funny what can pick you up after a **** day. Always accompanied by a large glass of wine and some chocolate. I succumbed to buying "squirty" cream after getting of the bus last night coming home. Intended to make a lush hot choc but then found the choc sauce I had made earlier in the fridge and remembered we had lush rum and raisin ice cream that we bought on sunday in the freezer. Ate it in front of never mind the buzzcocks which I usually enjoy when I can get five minutes of slightly anarchic TV to myself.
Bright Blessings
Earthbabe If at first you don't succeed, open a bottle of wine.
I was bored the other night, so started taking a look at a few other gardening forums and found one for another gardening magazine, with some of the grapes listed amonst their membership, seemed an ok place to be, some knowledgeable folks there too, but what I didnt find was the same banter, fun and enjoyment of the forum and of growing your own that I find here! The dedication, fun, commitment and general love of the subject here is what shines through from everyone, that plus the fact that everyone is soo friendly and forthcoming with their advice, the Grapevine feels like home, and I know where I'll be a staying! (Yes, that means you lot will have to put up with my inane chatter, bad jokes and total novice questions for a long time yet! Maybe one day I'll be able to offer some others some of the greeat advice I've gotten on here, but I have a feeling it wont be for a while yet!)
Thanks all for making this place such a lovely place to while away the hours!
Here, Here, Mrs D. I found another forum especially for allotments not affiliated with a magazine. It wasn't nearly as friendly as it is here and the banter just wasn't there at all. It also seemed quite competitive. Not bothered going back. Will stick here if no one minds.
