        I got a few Lidl ones a couple of weeks ago largely to top up my sack-grown potatoes. The bags are quite loosly packed, contents friable and darker than most composts I've seen. Too soon to say how good it's been.

        If they still have any, Netto growbags are even cheaper - 99p and I found them to be better this year than last, when they were a bikt woody.

          For anyone with a card, Makro are doing a BOGOF on J Arther Bowers 100L bags of MPC this week.

          that's 2 x 100L for £5 + VAT.

          So far the bags I've had this year have little in the way of foreign material and although a tad lumpy it does break up easily.

              Does anyone know if Birmingham city council sells any compost? All I can see on their website is composters for sale

                I suggest you enquire at your nearest dump/recycling centre!
                The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
