    Hi
Don't read this if you're squeamish...

Last night my cat Cocoa scrabbled at my leg and caught one of the veins on the front where the skin is very thin, it bled like no tomorrow and I even had blood spraying in the air and it didn't do a lot of good to soft furnishings in the area. Waste not want not, I was going to put all the blood soaked tissues in the compost bin but am sad I didn't keep all the water used to clean up self and surroundings so I could feed my tomatoes!

a word of warning! a neighbour of mine used to allow a local slaughter house to dispose of its blood by putting it on his land, on one field too much was spread in one area and now the crop is always very poor in that area of the field so be carefull

I should think that blood would be better off composted rather than used fresh. It's already been mentioned but fresh blood is likely to attract a lot of unwelcome visitors....from carnivores to the local council (is there a difference?)

My granddad always mixed it with water and sprayed it on the tomatoes with his stirrup pump.

                Happy days.

well after the battle of Waterloo they left the dead on the field and the locals stripped the bodys.

in 1820 some business men went over and collected the "bones of heros and horses", and ground them up and sold them as firtuliser.

Is that anything to do with the old nursery rhyme?
