  • Composting questions

    Hi im new here.
Ive read through a few of the threads in regards to compost materials noticed the information on ash very usefull.
Is ok to use the ash from privet clippings that have been incenarated was told that privet clippings dont compost well and effects the compost hence why I burn them down.
Also I know dogs mess is a no no in compost bins but is ok to use if its been incenarated as sometimes I burn this whilst im buring the privets im sure any toxins would of been destroyed during the burning process.
I also have a rabbit and have been told that the droppings and waste can be used for composting is this right.
Sorry if the questions sound really daft but I have no gardening experience what so ever and up until now the only things I could grow well were weeds
Any advice would be greatly recieved

    thanks
    Nick

Any veggy pets droppings/waste/straw bedding etc can be used in compost, likewise you can put your wood/hedge/paper ash on it too.
Not sure about dog poo, I probably would if it was burned, but I'm not an expert on that one...

Ash dosent need to be composted you can use it straight on the garden. The only thing against Privet is that it wil take a long time to rot down. I would shred it first then mix it in.

I would not put dog poo in buned on not....
