compost accelerator - could this have been chicken poo pellets

On Sunday we were killing time in a garden centre and I came across a pack containing compost accelerator. It was reduced so I had a closer look at it,a and spotted a hole in side of the pack.

Anyway... to get to the point... contents could be seen through the small hole and they looked, and smelt, just like Rooster granules. Is that likely to have been the case?

Yes indeedy - that's what I use if I haven't got the other stuff to hand!

anything high in nitrogen is a good compost accelerator (urine, grass clippings, comfrey tea etc)

I'm glad I saw this as I was going to buy compost accelerator at the weekend....but now i wont as I have a big bucket of chicken pellets!!
