heh, I use it all the time - everyone I work with (who are Welsh, obviously) always give me puzzled looks. Couple of them talk to me in a Yorkshire accent, despite the fact I'm not from there - but hey ho

    So, my soil saga continues....

Had it delivered this morning, dropped over the wall via a grabber thing, pretty much into my beds, and have a nice mount left over for more beds. So I start to dig it into the beds, where it's overflowed - and decide to inspect it. Oh man, I'm really upset !!!

it's FULL of stones, grit, and plastic bits. I can't believe it. Have phoned up - guy who dealt with me isn't in today.. so I've got to wait for him to call back. I'm really fuming though - so about to call back and demand to speak to a manager.

Finally got through to the manager. He said grit is common - I agreed, I mean to make up the weight - and as he says to add drainage (yes, but if I wanted complete grit I'd have asked for it!) - I found glass in there, and bits of car registration plate in it..

So, he's going to replace it it seems, I said I've no problem shovelling it into tonne bags, because I just want it gone. Hmph, not impressed.

Does this colour look ok? This is the stuff they delivered. (darker stuff).

The lighter clay stuff with the chips in is what I dug out of the beds in the first place.

I'd be well pleased with that Chris but then I'm no soil expert.

I would be pleased if I was laying turf on it but not for growing stuff in IMO, but there again it gives you a base to work on and adding manure and compost and other stuff over the next few years you could end up with something good.
