Fresh Horse manure

I have been given four bags of fresh horse manure and was wondering if I need to remove it from the bags and put somewhere to rot down or could I keep it in the bags to rot down.

Sorry for asking what seems a stupid question to some people.

If you leave it in bags, wet it well and stab holes in the bags for drainage

If it is in plastic bags, leave it somewhere warm, and it will sweat and rot. If you want to use it this year, put it in a bucket, up to half way, and top it up with water. Leave for six weeks, uncovered, then dig it in, water and all. if you don't want to use it this year, let it rot!

Or put it in your compost bin, speeds things up a treat

If you're leaving it in the bags would it be worth elevating them a bit...on a pallet or something...and placing a bucket under the bag to collect any liquid that comes out?

Thanks to everyone for all your replies, I wil do half and half. I'll also use a bag for the compost bins as suggested. I have been offered loads of fresh horse muck this year.

You can also grow your courgettes and pumpkins in it, if you can get some more make a mound and cover, dig out a couple of buckets full and fill with soil plant you pumpkins and courgettes in here and watch them go. I have about 4 tonnes of the fresh stuff sat waiting to do just this.
