Wormery Advice Please

I've been wanting a wormery for a while as I don't compost mush at home just on the allotment, I spotted this one 4 Tray Stacking Wormery in Black Fantastic Value | eBay on Ebay the other day and I wondered if any grapes on the vine had one of them and if so are they any good? they come in 4 and 5 tray versions .. Not getting one until the weather starts to get better probably March time.

Any input appreciated

Don't think I make one myself as its for keeping at home and OH says my collection of pallet wood has to go as it starting to look like Steptoe's yard down the side of the house so that going down to the plot come spring (i have many uses for it) .

Stacking wormeries are fab, I have a Can-o-worms and although it wasn't cheap it a) was a present from OH anyway and b) has been used for about 10 years now so the cost is well spread, oh and c) it's by the back door so I wanted something neat looking.

I just thought I would add my two pennyworth to the discussion.

Please take a look at the volume of the wormery that you have linked to.
The worm hut and the tiger wormery are both made by the same company so are the same size

each tray is just under 16 litres, so for a 4 tray wormery, the composting area is only 64 litres (each tray is 11cms high)

This is NOT big enough for a normal family.

If you take another look at ebay you will see that there are bigger stacking wormeries (4 trays at 100 litre total volume) at around the same price that are actually made in England ................

I just wanted to ask...

Why has no wormery manufacturer got a suitable sized can that can sit under the worm tap; I keep mine open all year round to let the liquid out but have to wedge a bucket under there as nothing I can find in the 'watering can' range will fit. Those that do fit have tiny areas at the top to let the water in so if they get moved about by the wind, the liquid doesn't always drip down into the can.

If there is one, can you let me know where I can get one [or two]. Thanks

I wire an empty pop bottle to the tap to catch the liquid. Seems to work. Keep the bottle top, unwire, and recap. Easy peasy.

We have advertised in the magazine, and on this website before.

We also try to keep abreast of postings from various places but its difficult to be everywhere

RE about the liquid .....

You could simply add a small length of garden hose onto the end of the tap and feed it straight into a bottle (this is what we do)

Well, as said, I have tried all sorts of things, but I am really looking for a watering can that sits neatly underneath! We have ours in the courtyard outside the back door, and tubes/tubs/buckets are really not what we want in an area that we use all the time as it can get kicked or blown about.

I could invent all sorts of ideas, but a watering can that sits underneath seems the simplest option, as it could be sold as an add-on. If it was designed to be that height, then did anyone design something to catch the drips?
