Can anyone help me with a composting problem please. I have two compost bins the first of which is ready for use and full of tiger worms, the other has the usual composting stuff in it and also a fair amount of horse manure I got from a local stable. I was wondering if it is ok to put the worms in the second bin when I empty the first. Do worms live happily in horse manure?

My delivery of manure is always teaming with worms. I tend to chuck some ready-compost from one bin into another to give it a kick start and introduce the bacteria/microbes that are present in it, to the other bin.
If it's fresh, then you could stack it somewhere, but you'll find worms making their way into it then anyway. -
Thanks Chris, that's put my mind at rest. The manure is already in the second bin so I'll just chuck the worms in and let them get on with it.Comment
