  • Grow your own mag

I have found this website and it is great, but now I can't find the actual magazine. I don't want to subscribe without ever having seen the mag, so just want to buy one at the moment.

Does anyone know anywhere which has them in the Manchester/Bolton area?
    Thanks

Distribution wise the magazine is available at Smiths, Tesco's, Morrisons, Asda, Co-op and now Sainsbury's. But unfortunately not at every store in the chains. It's just the way the supermarkets run things. Blossom I can send you a copy of mine if you like. Just send me a personal message with your address. Don't post it on the forum.

The PTB tell us that Asda seems to stock GYO in more of their stores than others pro rata. As Lesley points out not all shops in a chain will stock the magazine. In the poll "putting people on the map" one of the questions I asked is if GYO is available locally. Hopefully in time more people will vote and say where they get GYO from.
My local Asda is stocking it but most other stores in Cardiff don't seem to?

I usually buy mine in Asda (Cheshire), but I first found it in a local Co-op.

Blossom, not many stores around Manchester seem to stock GYO mag., I buy mine wherever I spot it , usually in the local Co-op, sometimes in Tesco. You might find it easier to get hold of now that Spring is on it's way as more newsagents & stores sell garden magazines when the growing season starts in winter it's hard to get even the 'biggies' like Gardeners' World round here.

                          Hi,

You can get the magazine pre orderd at just about any newsagents in the country. I live near a small post office and they order in my copy especially each month and put my name on it. The problem is with a lot a stores something as specialised as this they generally only tend to only get in a couple of copies which naturally go quite fast. Whereas if you preorder you can guarantee your copy, you don't have to pay in advance and can cancel at anytime (usually up to the week before the latest edition is brought out) It works really well for me.
                          Good Luck

I assume that was an unbiased opinion Neil

I usually give a new mag about 12 months and then If I still like it I subscribe.
