I have a tumbling compost. I have been composting for about six weeks. The compost is seething with worms. But how do they get there?

That picture gives me the creeps. I don't have those thankfully. I did think I found a leech in the tunnel last year though, it was in a really wet spot, he was a greeny black flat guy.
I have skinny black caterpillars too that I'm throwing out when I find them, they just don't look like they'd be up to any good.

They're snake millipedes, I looked them up. I put them in the wheelbarrow with the weeds and dumpd it all at the bottom of the garden, it's not a massive distance away but hopefully they wont find their way back.
Are they actually bad for my plants though?

Millipedes are detritivores and slow moving. Most millipedes eat decaying leaves and other dead plant matter, moisturising the food with secretions and then scraping it in with their jaws. However, they can also be minor garden pests, especially in greenhouses where they can cause severe damage to emergent seedlings. Signs of millipede damage include the stripping of the outer layers of a young plant stem and irregular damage to leaves and plant apices, the very top of a plant.
