  • comfrey liquid manure

    Hello all
I'm new to the grapevine and fairly new to allotments. I have inherited a nice patch of comfrey on my allotment which I remember reading you can use as a liquid feed good for tomato plants (which I have several now setting flowers). How many/what weight of leaves do you use to what amount of water and can you still use the leaves once the plant has flowered?

    thanks a lot

HI makem, Welcome to the vine. There are a couple of ways you can doi it. Either cut the leaves and steep them in water and then dilute the evil smelling gloop that you get or you can make a comfrey drainpipe and you fill that add a weight to press the leaves and get a really concentrated gloop instead. I'll look in my book for you and find the info out.

You'll feel at home here there's loads of Geordie's for you to argue with
