Looks too wet to me, but other than that looks just like what I use. Lovely and sandy, falls off the roots when pricking out with no root damage.

Works well for me and I find it far quicker than having to manage loads of delicate ickle plants.
How do you make the newspaper pots. I planted in modules an found it really hard to get some of the seedlings out without damaging the roots

Hi Bal. There are a few methods for making paper pots. Try the search button at the top because I'm sure I've seen helpful folk put it on the vine in the past. Also I do know that if you google there are instructions and video on the web. Just ask" how do I make paper pots" and loads of help should come up.

I use a little wooden former thing which I've had for years, make hundreds every year . I don't get on with the bigger pots made my some form of origami as I don't wind they are much of an advantage then and I prefer root trainers but they're brilliant for things like toms, cucumbers, peppers etc and I then transplant whole into 3" pots without disturbance.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

My hubby bought a bag of J. Inns for me today and its full of stones. Won't be using this again.

I roll a sheet around an aerosol can and tuck the bottom in.

Some pictures on my blog in case it helps:

Plant them "whole" (but tear off any paper sticking out above the surface as it will act as a wick and dry out the paper under-ground)
