NPK value of homemade compost nil

I just wanted to check if it really was true that compost NPK values are nil? I guess compost is just an excellent soil conditioner. The bacteria in the compost is supposed to help soil release nutrients as well as helping to retain nutrients.

It's value to soil is immeasurable.

Even an old boot has an NPK value, there are many who reckon its better than farm yard manure.
