we've got lots of slow worms... also saw a grass snake once, but they seem to be much shyer. I love to see them, but dont want to get too close and wouldnt dream of hurting them (tho would like to be able to use my compost at some stage!)
also lizards, which unfortunately the cats catch.
our garden is a real haven for wildlife, mostly because of the amount of untamed areas in it!!! plus the world's most enormous logpile.

When I see the title of this thread I start to hum it to the tune of '3 wheels on my wagon'!
Off now to hoe the weeds in the grounds of Mrs Flummery's Home for the Terminally Bemused!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I have never seen a slow worm 'in the wild' so to speak. Only ever in reptile houses.
Seen plenty of adders, but no slow worms.
One of my lottie neighbours even swears he saw an adder wriggle across the road last summer by the entrance to our site, so I've warned the kids not to touch anything snake like without getting me first!Veni, Vidi, Velcro.
I came, I saw, I stuck around.
