Hi all,
I'm wanting to build a leafmould bin (like a compost bin, but just for leaves), and I know that chicken wire or similar is best for the sides so that air can get in - so i wondered, would it be best to let air circulate underneath as well? If so I would do this by using a pallet as the base for my bin, with chicken wire laid on top to stop the leaves falling through the gaps. Would this help the composting process, or does the pile need contact with the ground so that worms etc can get in?
