Wood pellet cat litter - can I compost it?

I'm trying some wood pellet cat litter for my cats for the first time (usually I use the gravel type) and I wondered if I could put the spent litter (minus the 'solids') onto my compost heap?

I do
Just mix it in well, or it tends to stay in a clump

Thanks Thelma, maybe the stench of cat pee will keep rats out of my compost bins as well?
