Munching Worms

I very wastefully let a whole cucumber go soft in the fridge (forgot about it basically) so knowing its a favourite with worms gave them the whole thing.
Today it is covered in hundreds of worms from the great granddads to the tiny babies, they've eated off the skin and are going for the insides with relish.
Now is it my imagination or my hearing but I'd swear I could hear them eating!
Just a faint squeaky sort of munching noise....

Yep - thats your worms doing their thing! A sort of squelching sound?! It quite disturbed me the first time I heard it!
