Seeds for 5 year olds

My daughter wants to get her class of 5 year olds growing stuff in class. She's acquired some cheap brown plastic pots and I've given her a bag of runner bean seeds to get her started off. But she wants suggestions for some other things that:
- are cheap;
- are guaranteed to germinate quickly;
- will take the abuse and inevitable over-watering.

Any thoughts?

I remember growing cress on kitchen towel as a kid at school. Also the old carrot top on a dish of water.

Peas are good to grow with children. Plant them in damp compost but don't water again until they germinate, or they can rot. Plant out when bigger into big pots or open ground. Children generally like them too. Radishes are quick and easy, but children generally don't like the taste of them. Watching their screwed up faces is quite amusing though!!

Thanks everybody, I've passed all the suggestions on along with some pea seeds and tomato seeds I had spare.
