I have a bed that only gets part shade during the day, can anyone recommend best veg for growing in the shade, been told beetroot , raddish up to now
cheers
Lettuce, and generally any salad crops (they don't like to be hot and dry). However they do need reasonable light levels so if it's really deep shade then not very much will grow successfully.
Not actually veg, but rasps and mint don't mind a bit of shade! Garlic should be ok as it was originally a woodland plant. Can't think of any others but quick growing salad crops would be worth a try!
