Just been to town for the usual cheapie stores and saw or bought some of these, all are still selling boxed up flowers/shrubs/rose:
Pounland:
good choice of flowering bulbs, branded fertilisers/plant food, cheapest polytunnel cloche (very basic though), plastic pots/troughs/planters but no longer sells the sensible designed window box, usual hanging basket stuffs, bird feeder (clear plastic tube type), various other tacky garden stuffs e.g. wind chimes, garden fairies
Wilko:
3 for price of 2 on plastic trough/window boxes but also on other planters
3 for price of 2 on Wilko seeds (some seeds as low as 39p)
3.5kg box Arthur Bower's Autumn lawn food & moss killer for £1.25!
Venitian style wall basket £1.09 (I want to see how it hangs with flowers)
* Big storage boxes are still expensive if you want them for growing veggies
Instore/Poundstretcher:
Upto 5 feet height of Fruit trees for £4.99 (granny smith, bramley, golden delicious, jonagold apples etc and fantasia apricot, cherry?)
A pack of 5 storage boxes (measuring 13"x16" and 9" deep) for £4.99 which I'm going to use to grow some vegetables - cheapest storage boxes I've seen
15 litres flexi trug for £1.99 and 30 litres for £2.99 (if you're after really big pots)
Massive size pots are good price for your fruit trees
Wickes:
4 bags of 75 litres multi-purpose compost for £10
DIY black bucket for £1 (if you want to grow spuds in them)
