I'm not sure if this any good to anyone but our local 'Home Bargains' (kind of like a B&M) have had daffs, tulips etc for.......20 pence a bag! I bought loads.
They also have loads of gardening equipment in at the moment too.
Nearest Lidl is 15 miles.. prob a bit too far as the nearest wilko is 5 and the nearest garden centre 4.
Maybe I should get a petition going to get one put in the huge space left by woolies on our town?
fruit trees £3.99 at lidl /£4.99 at poundstretchers
Choose from Jonagold, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Bramley apples, Stella cherry, Beurre Hardy pear, Conference pear, Victoria plum or Opal plum Lidl Online they are in on 5th feb
there is also a good variety at poundstretcher in now
I quite fancy another Victoria Plum and a couple of apple but are the trees self-fertile?
Jonagold and Bramley are both triploid, so they are not self fertile and are no good as pollinators for any other apples.
Cox's may have some degree of self-fertility.
Stella is supposed to be self-fertile.
Most pears are not self fertile, although Conference is partially self-fertile, but if Conference is self-pollinated, the fruit is of lower quality and often mis-shapen.
Victoria and Opal are self-fertile.
There are also fruit trees for £4ish at Instore and fruit bushes in Poundland, was in town today & had a quick looksie.
sorry instore is poundstretchers, i did notice their morello cherry tree says partly self fertile, so was wondering about getting one of those and a lidl's stella one, would that work??
