After the advice here yesterday, I used a very strong metal serving slotted spoon (solid yoke) to scoop out the flesh last night. My main ceggie knife (the big chopper) went through the top pretty easily, but I didn't want to take too much flesh off the walls.
So tonight comes the main carving bit. The toddler is insisting on helping, so I had to leave the fun part for when she's awake (well, she "helped" scoop out the first half of the seeds yesterday) - I am thinking that I may need to sharpen the smaller kitchen knife for the details (I think I'll draw with a marker first, as I am a pretty useless artist).
