  • new use for lip balm

Having mislayed my cutical cream,i tryed some of this on mine, and so far is good,it does for your cutcals the same as lips,i had really neglected my hands, and so far am on my 8th day of NO BITTING,and are trying to turn them around, have in the past gone 2 weeks, then get stressed, and bingo,of they come again,so am trying extra hard,am going to keep using it over the winter, already they are softer,is maybe better to use it at night when your not using them, just relax and gently rub it in.

I have bitten my nails for donkeys years, so i know what you are up against.

the only time i truly gave up biting mine was when i had them 'done', i had them 'overlaid' rather than just lengthened, and they grew underneath just fine, thing is you just couldn't bite them.
if you manage to last a month, then consider treating yourself to having them done, it will help when you get stressed and don't realise you are nibbling till its too late.

never heard of 'overlaid' bride, the worst time is when sitting down, either tv watch or visitors, somehow the fingers find their way into the chopping machine ,

you can do it yourself if you buy the kits, from either boots or superdrug, you just mix the stuff up and instead of doing extensions, just paint it over your own nails, it makes them thicker, and you cant bite them without suddenly realising what you are trying to do( that's the trick cos us nailbiters never realise till we have ripped one off), then all you have to do is 'backfill' at cuticle edge every so often until you have truly broken the habit. if you can afford to have it done at a salon, i would advise that though, your nails will be quite weak for a long time, and overlays help.
if you tell them what you want, not long fancy nails that you can catch and break, but just strengthening yours so you can't bite them, they will know what you want.

thank you bride,i noticed last week when preening my nails that they look a lot healthier now my thyroxin levels seem to have settled down,so at the moment are feeling quite pleased with things, then the next step is try to get rid of the 3 stone i gained,i lost 5,then got 3 back, now that is going to be the hardest, believe me.
well done hooraynana, thats the only draw back, you get used to having no nails, boxing day my grandaughters wanted to give me a make over,{bless them},the 14 year old did the make up,and 8 year old painted my nails, even put some beady things on them, this she did without an ounce of critasism for the state they were in,so i have to be good,it encouraged me to try again,
