I've just been given a 6' x 6' greenhouse - I've taken it apart and now I just need to scrounge a van or trailer to get it from Fulwood to my house!

We are on the lookout for a greenhouse too, free would obviously be preffrable, but looking round Focus in Congleton today and they had a 6'x8' horticultural glass one for £169.99, which seemed quite good for a new one!

Cheers DD but it won't fit in one. Have a trailer organised now so it should be here and ready to build on Sat

That's pretty good going Snadger, maybe you could have a word with my hubby who hasn't got his head round the whole thing of the less it costs the better.

Not had many gardening freebies, council have given me water butts and I can collect as many pallets as I could ever want from any number of places. Have been offered a number of fruit bushes on freecycle when I only asked if I could take cuttings (3 blackcurrant, a number of raspberry and sounds like any number of cuttings from the site over the road). Ahh happy days, dreaming of all that is to come.

I suppose if you count being given my mum's old car 8-9 years back ..... that's got to be a good one. Sadly said car has now wheeled it's last and we had to buy one about 3 years ago.

I get quite a few freebies from my Mum and Dad when they decide they don't want a certain plant anymore - I tend to get offered them before they go on the compost. I currently have 6 geraniums from last year that looked dead but I planted up and were just dormant - they've flowered very well this year. They're thinking of redoing their front beds as everything in there has been there wuite a while and they fancy a change, but it means I get the choice of lots of well estabish plants for free!

Nice one shortie. Where my folks no longer have much in the way of garden (too old at 61 and 64 they tell me!!) I tend to get given books, although sometimes they come back from Spain with something wrapped in plastic and paper and secreted in the luggage. Last time it was a lemon grass plant which I have unfortunately managed to kill.

My OH is getting the idea now!!!
He made my raised beds for me and acquired tyres for my potatoes but he's reached the next level now...he's helping his step dad to build an extension and he's bringing me blue water barrels and sacking already...but the most romantic thing of all was when he said he'd make me a polytunnel.....ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Mine has also said he would make me a polytunnel. I know where we can get some metal bits but I fear he has too much work for his crystals course for it to happen this side of the next spring equinox!!!!

Still I shall wait patiently like a good wifey occasionally muttering aubergines and melons under my breath.
