I spent some MORE money today, got a lemon tree with lemons already growing on it for 13.00 and 2 fruit trees from aldi, golden delicious and a cherry tree, 7.18 each.

On a Lidl/Aldi theme, do any of les rosbifs know if the deals are the same in UK and France at the same time? I'm guessing not, but one never knows.

I have no idea if the same offers are on at the same time in the 2 countries but i would imagine that in france you can sign up for the twice weekly email from them telling you about upcoming offers like you can here.Thats how people get a "heads up" of what offers are on soon.

Been in today.......seeds 38p a pack, seedling compost 96p a bag and they aint small bags,,,,,black membrane 2.13 a pack, windowsill propogators 2.18 a pack, I went with OH and bought loads lol

I went to Aldi yesterday spent £15 on food and £45 on the garden, things I wanted last year but could not justify Garden Centre prices eg Gooseberry, lots of bulbs, shuttle trays. It was just unbelieveable for prices and they are the same brands that other places sell for twice and three times the price.

the aldi seedling compost is spot on. lovely stuff and the seeds are liking it. good germination so far.

I bought some lovely slippers in Lidl, Spain. 2 weeks later they had them on offer here. So my guess is they usually have similar offers but not always on the same week. My sister buys corned beef in Lidl France for less than we pay here. Now that the pound is so low though this might be different.

the only fruit bushes / trees in our aldi were applies again .... and no useful seeds .... but i did get another 2 triple propogator packs ..........
