I wonder how long until potato plastic causes a worldwide potato shortage!

This year I have been using cut down cardboard boxes lined with carrier bags as my seed trays.

I keep all plastic/carrier bags, I use them instead of bin liners, I don't produce much waste what with chickens, rabbit, compost heap and raeburn so a little bin suits me fine. What bags don't get used around the house/garden get given away to charity shops or to the stands at our very small farmers market. Where do you guys get cardboard boxes from, all the shops n supermarkets here say they are not allowed to keep then 4 customers as fire/health n safety risk or some such. I remember as a child we always used to use them and would like to again (my rabbit loves to play with boxes we stick them together and make bunny castles )

If you have a proper raeburn cooker, burning coal, logs and suitable rubbish, then once carriers have got too dirty to be useable, part-fill with paper that is due for burning, roll into a 'log', and it can go on the fire. It is best to only burn tiny amounts, well mixed with other stuff (one or 2 bags at any one time, they take about 10 mins to burn completely), and you need a really good 'draught', but they DO produce useful heat, and if there is no other use for them, why not?
