top tip for storing apples

A fired of mine just emailed me to tell me how her mother used to store her cookers...she said this:

When I was wee we had an apple tree in the garden, which produced lovely cookers. I remember my Mum knotting them up in nylon tights and hanging them in the loft, where they kept for months.

I thought it was a good idea and so thought I would share it with you all.

Think other produce can be stored in nylon tights!
