Hi all,
This is not a growing query, but not sure which forum to put this thread on.
I don't know how many of you live or have allotments in the Brum area, but would just like to bring your attention to a nice little project.
I am a community psychiatric nurse who works for a local NHS trust and as part of the promotion of therapeutic activity (nursey jargon!), the trust has a small garden centre set up for clients to learn new skills and become involved in all aspects of horticulture.
They sell a large number of plants (flowers and veg) and I was in there the other day and purchased some excellent quality cauli plants for 50p for five. Also a couple of bean plants for 25p each.
I must stress that the centre is not run for massive profit, just enough to keep the service going and I am not promoting it for my gain, as I am not involved in it at all, just to bring awareness of it as the staff there are grateful for any custom to help keep this valuable service going.
It is called Park Lane Garden Centre and is in Aston, B6 5DL. I have got a number, but not sure of the protocol for posting it, so if you would like it, then let me know and I will give it to you some other way.
Pop down and have a look if any of you are passing, they are definatley not one of these big commercial stores so don't go expecting loads of equipment on sale, but the plants are of a high quality and the service is very worthwhile.
Like I said, five plants for 50p, so if you want some bargains, go along.
They call it 'Aston's best kept secret', I hope it's not so secret after this!
