  • onion sets - bargain?

Today I picked up a pack of 50 japanese onion sets for 90p in Wilkinsons. They didn't have a named variety on them but they look good quality. And a lot cheaper than any others I have ever bought.

Wasn't going to get any but at that price how could I refuse.

I don't think I've ever been in Wilkinsons, although there is one not too far away - do they do lots of gardening stuff? Sounds like the prices are a bargain.

yes they do Bex! that's why my OH came home with loads and loads of seeds a few weeks ago during the sale! I really need to train him to let me have a weekly update on what they are selling! but seriously! yes, they do various gardening stuff (and at a very good price!) - obviously, at the beginning of spring - but by the sounds of it - now as well! do give them a go! Our local Wilko's has just been refurbished, and no longer has a Gardening section atm!

I'm hoping it will return in the spring, once xmas is over and done with!

Well done with the bargain EB, we got a pack of 50 sets from Golden Days Garden center a couple of weeks ago, planted them the sunday before last and have about 13 now breaking the surface! Tis great to see the first things we've planted already growing!

They've got lots of good value bulbs in. Was very tempted by the crocus and crocus specie bulbs and muscari. Crocus started at 89p for 10 (I think). It's looking a bit depleted in our Wilko at the mo cos they are doing all the Xmas displays. They have good prices on toiletries and stationery too.

Hi Earthbabe - Muscari spreads like wild fire be very wary of it. I shall still be trying to remove the stuff when the world stops tuning I think
