Natural/Organic Wood preservative advice

Hello all. My first post...I'm delighted to have found this forum!

I would appreciate any advice on how I would treat wood in raised beds (in a polytunnel) so as the lifespan is extended. I would prefer to use an Organic/Natural preservative so as no chemicals leak into the soil.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Most people think of Boiled Linseed Oil, but this is mixed with Turps to make it dry quicker.

There is an article in the May 2009 (current issue) of Grow Your Own magazine, I think by Andi Cleveley, on making your own organic preservative. Might as well give the magazine a shout, since it's their forum.
