Three years ago we bought two 220 litre bins from our local council at £8.00 each. Now they want £20 for ONE and another fiver to deliver the thing. Looks like I'll be making my own in future.

Live each day as if it was your last because one day it will be
about ten years ago we got ours which is a rotating one for free and free delivery also a free wormery if you wanted it. now kent has put it up to £22 + 5 delivery.
i think theyre trying to recover the millions of our money they lost to the iceland banks.
Ours Wiltshire CC (was KDC) had gone up before the credit/bank crash - I reckon when it became popular they decided it was a nice little earner! Ours were between £10 (daleks) to £20ish for the bigger green ones - delivered! Now twice that at least.

how did you get it for free, does your local council have to be part of the scheme
Yes, sadly they do. Two years ago I bought three, they were £4 each, free delivery and a free compost caddy. Now we're not part of the scheme and they would be £22 plus £5 delivery charge. If you don't qualify for a cheap or free one now it might be worth checking every few months to see if your council has joined.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
