How did I ever manage before eBay? I honestly don't know!
I am a long time convert and have been buying and selling on ebay for years now! I live old books and have just aquired Beeton's Gardening Book for the princely sum of £2.70!!!
This is a Victorian Gardeners manual which has charming coloured plates, was 1/6d when new and is a joy to read. Victorians must have had excellent eyesight as it is very small print but is really descriptive about how our forefathers gardened.
There are chapters about 'The kitchen Garden' (which to us is the Victorian Kithen garden before it assumed that title!) The victorians didn't have a garden shed, it was the 'Tool House'. They heated there greenhouses and frames with 'Hotbeds' made from manure.
I could go on and on...but I won't!
I have also bought seeds and plants from ebay with good results and to me it's like an international market stall!
If you haven't been on it, give it a go, but be advised it can be addictive!
