Where did you find your replacement covers, Earthbabe?

Mine's been going 3 or 4 years and the plastic is now completely embrittled and falling to bits. I line the bottom, under the bottom shelf, with those polystyrene trays that bedding plants come in to keep it a bit warmer for overwintering stuff. Another layer of them on their sides round the bottom edge too. I started trying to do it yesterday and the cover started to disintegrate everywhere

I found them in a garden centre in Calmore (near Totton) they are made by Gardman so should be nationally available. I bought a replacement plastic one which is starting to get holes in but is repairable and a fleece one.

What are you guys doing to your covers, have had one now for about 7 years and it's fine, give it a good scrub down a couple of times a year and haven't had any problems apart from one of the zips being a bit stiff!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The plastic's gone all brittle and started to split, especially where it sits on the frame and where the zips are stitched in. Serves me right for getting a cheap and nasty one in the first place - I guess the plastic isn't stabilised against UV

Have you ever thought of replacing the plastic covering with fine mesh net and using it as a small fruit cage.

Now that is a good idea. Maybe I'll just have to get another one...

My OH works at the Cleveleys store, but if you go to the customer service desk in the Preston store they will be able to tell you if they have any left. Good luck. DDL
