I've had my dalek type Bokashi buckets for a couple of months now and I'm really pleased with them. I've already emptied them about four times and a fifth is fermenting now and the sixth is gradually filling up as well.
I have encountered a small problem though. I was supplied with a block of polystyrene to fit inside the buckets for the drainer at the bottom to sit on, but as you can see from this picture, the block has shrunk. Also, the drainer itself is a bit flimsy and is starting to break up because of the uneven pressures put on it because of the block being disfigured.
I decided that the way foreward was to fit something else to the bottom of the drainer. I cut the bottom off the big orange squash bottle in the picture above and then glued it onto the base of the drainer like this.
As you can see from the last picture, I also cut some gaps into the bottle bottom to help the bokashi tea to run out.
The drainer is now back inside the bin and seems so far to be working ok.
