I buy all over the place and collect all the freebies I can. I find the organic catalogue seeds fantastic in terms of germination and quality but a bit expensive so use them for seeds with a good return e.g. beans, squash and sweetcorn or if I want something a bit different. I use Lidl and Wilkersons for things like radishes and lettuce.

I bought the bulk of my seeds for this year from Kings Seeds and was very impressed, most about a quid a packet and some of which will do the next couple of years also. Also bought a few from various other outlets but hardly use T&M / Suttons anymore as I find that don't sell the varieties I want and are increasingly concentrating on F1s which I tend to avoid.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The 1st year I started veg gardening (2007) I bought £11 worth from Wilkinson, I was shocked that everything grew in abundance!! This year I spent over £65 at DTBrowns and everything is in abundance again!!!(although I went for every type of veg I would consider eating!) I won't know til next year if DTs seeds are still viable, but Wilko's seeds didn't work at all in 2008. However, the reason I used DT Brown is that I found their catalogue really easy to use, and their website too, which is nearly as important as cost to me (I'm a sucker for the shiny nicely organised catalogues!)

Moreveg is really useful. Post free for orders over £5 and they do smaller quantities so you don't end up throwing a load away when they are no longer viable.
