    Hi Dexter,

I too fish, ride motorcycles and shoot which all play havoc when it is cold. DONT LISTEN TO THEM ALL, WELLIES DO WORK, you just have to know what you are doing and spend the right amount on them.

The very best of Wellington boot is, I am sorry to say, French
    The vierznord, from Le Chameau.

They are Neoprene lined and made from the softest rubber you could imagine. It is also important to wear the right socks, the Bridgedale walking sock is excellent. The boots are as comfy as a pair of slippers, I kid you not. I can walk and work all day in them and my feet are toastie and so comfortable that they are not stressed.

At about £110.00 PER PAIR, they are expensive, but at the end of the first days work you will thank me.

Also, my brother in law has suffered reynards for years and fishes and shoots too. He put off taking the tablets for fear of side effects but got to the point of having to give up on his hobbies. He started taking them and has a new lease of life with no side effects except an upset tummy every now and then.

But Dexter, you really should invest the money, I spend quite a bit on my passtimes and this is the best money that I have EVER spent. All day Saturday, waiting for a shot in the driving rain reminded me why I have a pair!

DDL. Hunter do a neopene line boot. Next time you are in Dumfries go into their factory shop for a very good deal. Got my pair this year for less than £60 Worn them a lot for dog walking etc and not a sign of wear on the sole.

            Hi dwrudd,

I would agree with you about le Chameau wellies. I was given a pair as a pressie and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned and they keep my feet WARM with the right socks inside. I don't think that they cost £110 though You must have the super duper model

Methinks I'll have to put a pair on my birthday list, or if I win the lottery then I'll definately give them a go.
I really appreciate everyones advice. Thanks! DDL

I have just bought a fab pair of Muck boots. very warm and cosy, good for big calves as the soft neoprene bit stretches. They were about £36 from an internet site. I just googled Muck boots. Used mainly by horsey people but are brill for the allotment. Like 4 by 4 wheel drive wellies!!
