  • Dry and Heat Simultaneously

After reading on here about a dehydrator from the Westfalia site i purchased the item and waited eagerly for its arrival, as soon as it arrived i put it to use making some fruit leather from strawberry and banana's (very nice by the way) the only problem was that it made a bit of a noise when on and because it had to be on for a while i looked for somewhere less intrusive to use it.
i have a lean-to type conservatory with plug points so i put it in there, i then discovered a happy accident, as it dried it also raised the tempreture of the conservatory which is where i grow tomatoes and chillis etc, brilliant discovery just as the weather turned cold i'm going to get a little more growing and ripening from my little beauties.

Mine is buzzing away beside my chilli and aubergine plants as I type (drying out sliced kiwis) in my unheated kitchen. This is good - specially as the freezer is full and I always have too many mushrooms, tomatoes, fruits of various kind to use up before they go off - so drying is the answer for me!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
