    Hey, Man - you noticed

To return to the thread, would my compost bin duvet count as an accelerator? In other words something that keeps in heat and moisture - my lottie compost bins all have these and they seem to rot down pretty fast, I'm pleased to say. It looks like the fox on the lottie site has found them a comfort too!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

That is an accelerator OK Jeanied. One of the things composting needs is warmth. That is why composting is faster in summer than in winter. Lovage points out that tumblers are not really that great. I agree, having tried one. I think the problem is that the rotting down process itself creates warmth in the centre of the compost pile or bin. Tumbling releases that heat. So what it gains in aereation it loses in heat. The only thing is, because of extra air getting in, the compost should be of an excellent quality. I didn't notice it though. OH says I am an expert on compost and manure. She says I am full of it.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
