  • Cheep Home Made Wormery.

For those you who can't afford one of the many new wormery's that are out there, how about trying one of these? The only thing you have to buy are the worms and a large plastic box with a lid. Link below on how to make it. I hope this is useful for you all .

Good idea. I am just wondering how you separate the worms out when you want to use the compost.

I made my wormary from an old oven. It was a gas oven so I just took out the gas bits and refitted the door as , I popped it on its back so that the vents for the oven were useful for drainage and the door became a lid and painted the outside with black hammer finnish paint. I have to tip it over when its full so that I can put the made compost into another bin and then start again with just a little almost ready compost in the bottom. The worms tend to stay in the almost ready bit so the compost in the bottom is usualy easy to remove.
