Anyone ever bought one of those Rose Arches just wondering if they're any good for runner beans to grow up.
          Location....East Midlands.

The woman on the plot next to me bought a couple to do squashes over last year and they were pretty good until the weight got too great and they buckled.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

My step-father-in-law (I think?) had some of those Lidl loppers - the blade shafts came out of the handle after going through a tree cutting session - prob ok for smaller branches/twigs, but nowt heavy duty.

I bought some from B&Q last year for a tenner, and I've gone through stuff about 5inches thick. Took a lot of straining on my behalf, but it went through reasonably cleanly Couldn't be bothered to go get the saw, so saw it as a challenge.

Do NOT purchase either the loppers or the shears unless they are for very light work.
The secateurs are okay - I will be buying 10 pairs - I keep losing my ones in the forest - hang them on a tree whilst I go and get something (like a coffee or a dry pair of gloves) and forget which tree it was!! (They all look the same to me) and at 99p a pop, you can't go wrong. Means I can leave my good set over at the polytunnel where I know where they are at all times.

LOL - not much chance of that - it's a private forest and my boss isn't too keen on the Scots Gov't Right to Roam legislation. Come September when I start to mark the Christmas Trees for height, I'll probably find all the various sets - maybe I could sell the trees as already decorated ?

The submersible water pump is a steal at £11.99. We're hoping this will reduce the need to hump dozens of watering cans of water up the garden this Summer.

I've used the secateurs today, and despite the blade feeling very sharp they're not a patch on my Felco's for ease of cutting. Pretty significant difference in price though...

Okay just read back over the thread and I'm guessing the loppers may end up getting lopped.
