Didn't get email - got tree ...well, when I say I got the tree....
....I got a nice firm cardboard tube with a lovely hessian bag in it, within the hessian bag was lovely damp compost and a leaveless twig and within the cardboard tube were a few dried and (now clearly) dead leaves.

I am nothing if not optimistic
Mine was the same. A little twig with some very dried leaves hanging on for dear life!
Nothing on the tube to state that it contained a live plant. No moisture in the compost, so gawd alone knows how long the poor little thing had been parcelled up.
I've put it in water, and will wait and see...

My silver birch had 3 leaves on. There was about 8 in the bottom of the tube. The hessian sack was as dry as a bone. No label saying live plants - careful
But mine has about 8 buds now bursting so I am going to plant it in a bucket for the next year or so and grow it on into a larger tree before I commit it to the ground
