Has anyone any experience of the self watering planters?
If they are the same thing I bought a few years back, they make keeping the plants alive an awful lot easier. (Especially if you are as forgetful as me !)
Simply a normal planter tub with a false bottom, which has three "chimneys". Capillary matting sucks up the water from the area beneath the false bottom and distributes it to the soil and thus roots. Water as normal until the indicator at one end shows the reservoir is full, and hey presto, your flowers will thrive !
(Well mine did, and they don't normally. Pity my parents ended up with them...)
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Head-hunted member of the Nutter's Club - can I get my cranium back please ?

Thanks Snohare, the pots sound suitable for use in hydroponics.
