Water Containers as Cloches

Finally got down to Tesco tonight and purchased a couple, just to try. The water will go for feeding my seedlings and then I will use the bottles. Thanks for the advice!

Glad to be of use I'm suddenly seeing packaging and "rubbish" in a new light!
Also never thought OH could be so useful, but suddenly think him working in demolition could be very handy It's amazing the things that get thrown away on site!

May be a silly question but on an exposewd site how wpould you stop the bottles blowing away If planted more than a couple of inches in soil they wouldnt cover much in the way of caulis

Plot next to mine is currently using his for his Butternut Squash the supporting cane poking through the top. Two birds with one stone maybe?
