Glue for teracotta pots

I have several teracotta pots that have split into two sizeable pieces - is there a special type of glue you can buy to stick them back together that will be weatherproof? Or should I get out my hammer and make some nice crocks for my remaining pots?

go for the crocks! I never seem to have enough broken pots to use as crocks and have to resort to finding stones to use at the bottom of my pots!

I'd make crocks. Even if you can glue the pots they will be weak at the joints. Terracotta is lovely but isn't frostproof.

I find that teracotta pots benefit from a coating of something like Ronseal Waterseal both inside and out (dont forget the base!). The pots are porus and absorb water throughout the year, then when it freezes in the winter the water expands and the pots crack. stop the water penetrating and your pots will last much longer.
