I've been looking at their offers this lunch time - I was tempted by anther bag of onion sets (154 in my last bag, so 300~ should be plenty if I get another ) as they were half price.
However, I'm concerned it may be too late for them to grow to a decent size (smallish is ok, but I want usable onions, not picklers).
Any thoughts? (Not the right forum to ask this, I know)."Live like a peasant, eat like a king..."

Suppose so; probably 2/3rds of my plot hasn't been divided up and planned properly yet so I'm sure I can fit them in. I already have 154 (count 'em!) sets in the ground and about 50 shallot sets so maybe it's a bit extravagant, despite being cheap.
There are only two of us (and a baby) to feed!"Live like a peasant, eat like a king..."

Might give it a go then - thanks; I was just reading earlier about how they put on green growth 'til midsummer, then use the leaves to put on bulb growth - the less time to grow leaves, the less onion you get at the end of it.
I was a bit worried there wouldn't be enough time to put out plenty of leaves."Live like a peasant, eat like a king..."
