Silly question really, but what sort of sand do I add to help drainage? Do I just go down the builders merchants and ask for a bag of sand?

Would sharp sand be okay to brush into the gaps between paving slabs too?
The sand cement mix will absorb water from below and set like cement! No more weeding between flags!Last edited by Snadger; 01-05-2007, 08:53 PM.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

I think you mix it one to one SBP - one shovel sand one shovel cement. There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

sorry did I get it wrong are you putting sand in your compost?
We are on London clay.....the same clay they make bricks out of.....and there is a brick works just up the road.
My neighbour delivers sand and if he is over weight he drops the excess on my drive....last year I dropped tons of it on my plot and rotovated in to no effect. My phone has more Processing power than the Computers NASA used to fake the Moon Landings
