  • What couldn't you do without?

As you may have read by now I pick up the keys to my allotment soon 😊

Just wondering what you keep on your allotment. I currently have no where to store anything but I'm hoping to rectify that in my first visit. I will be taking a large and hand fork a hammer and nails (there are some pallets on the plot I plan to use to edge beds and make a compost hidden storage area) and a biscuit tin.

    Any suggestions for anything else

I would wait and see what others leave on their plots - you may get an idea of what can be left down there safely. We weren't allowed sheds for many years, but as soon as we were, the break-ins started! My shed has been there for about 5 years and has been broken into many times - so I no longer bother to lock it. Not that anything got taken as people aren't looking for the junk I keep in there - all my best tools are taken down with me and the dog in the car!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I used not to lock mine but even though I didn't keep anything of value in there it became annoying having to find where the trespassers had put my cheap bits and pieces as they seemed to find it hilarious to swap them with the contents of other sheds. Not really crime of the century but very irritating.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I don't have a lottie, but if I did, I'd definitely be needing my kelly kettle there. Fantastic bit of kit. Of course this would also need to be accompanied with a comfy seat
