HI firstly I'm not sure I'm in the right section excuse me if i am.
I have a problem with a holly bush trying persistently to grow through the footings
of my garden wall , I have cut it down to ground level but i keeps coming back
it is approx the width of a fifty pence piece . So can any one give me some advice
on how to kill it off without the need to dig out of the wall as i do not want to damage
my wall , i welcome any advice given , and i thank you all in advance

You can get a stump and root killer from the garden centre

I think there is a kind of 'paint on' weedkiller you can buy for this kind of thing, but it is a few years since I last used it (on leylandii stumps). It was called something like root and stump killer, came in a black box with white and yellow writing on, but I am afraid I cannot remember the name.

Maybe try asking at your local DIY store or garden centre?

If not, I am sure there'll be someone more knowledgeable along soon!

Even regular glyphosate will work (a nice potent mix) as long as you paint it on thick immediatly on the fresh cut, that way the roots take it straight down and being a systemic it will indeed do the deed.
